Chapter 147 — The Long-Awaited...

Years of Heartflutter Page 295 of 501

Yang Ce broke out in a cold sweat. No way—this fellow was actually Tian Yan's old man? Then didn't that make him the junior here? Never mind whatever master-servant business there was between the Sun and Tian families; judged purely from Tian Yan's side, the man before him was his elder. Yang Shuoxuan dared not put on airs any longer. He rose to his feet and respectfully addressed him as "Uncle Tian."

Tian Long smiled, but then he suddenly thought of Hong Kai, whose face was covered in blood from Scarface's beating, and a note of apology crept into his voice. "Since you've called me Uncle Tian, then Uncle Tian can only make amends to you. I didn't know he was your classmate—"

Yang Ce glanced at Hong Kai on the floor and said, "What do you mean? I don't know him. A moment ago I was thinking about beating him up myself."

"Pfft—" Liu Ting had just taken a sip of her drink. At Yang Cenbin's words she burst out laughing, and the whole mouthful sprayed right onto Wei Jin's face beside her.

Wei Jin saw that it was Liu Ting who had sprayed him, and though he was left in a sorry state, he swallowed his anger. This was the woman he liked—naturally he could not do anything to her.

Still, after hearing Yang Juehuan's words, Wei Jin's face turned exceedingly grim. He had never imagined that the man even his uncle could not afford to offend was actually chatting and laughing so freely with Yan.

Unhappy as he was, there was no way to vent it. Fortunately, the thought that in a little while Liu Baoqiang would be caught in bed, and Liu Ting would fall into his arms, made Wei Jin feel a bit better.

Tian Long nodded, then smiled and led his people out of the restaurant. As for Hong Kai, the security guards beside Sui Yuemin helped him off to have his wounds tended to. After what had just happened, no one had any appetite left to keep eating.

Moreover, Wei Jin figured things on Liu Baoqiang's side should be about done, so he secretly called Zou Ruoguang and told him to go catch them in the act.

On his end, Wei Jin announced to the others, "Next, I'll take everyone up to the entertainment hall upstairs."

Although the earlier affair had dented Wei Jin's pride somewhat and made these classmates regard Chen Shutang's boyfriend with new eyes, they were, after all, not familiar with Yan, and they still needed Wei Jin's help to arrange jobs. So they all enthusiastically chimed in with Wei Jin and rose together, following him out of the restaurant.

Wei Jin, of course, was not about to lead these people straight to the entertainment room upstairs. Instead, he first led them toward the guest rooms where Liu Baoqiang was staying.

"Wei Jin, I'll skip it. Ask around for me and find out which room Liu Baoqiang's in—I'll go keep him company." Liu Ting thought of Liu Baoqiang still drunk and lost all interest in having fun.

Wei Jin had been worrying about what excuse to give everyone when they reached the guest rooms. Liu Ting had just delivered herself right to his door. Overjoyed, he kept his face unchanged and said, "Then let's go. We'll pass by the guest rooms in a bit anyway. We can all look in on Liu Baoqiang together and see if he's sobered up. If he has, we'll all go have some fun."

Liu Ting had no idea why Wei Jin had suddenly changed his tune, but now that he was being so considerate of her at every turn, she could only nod gratefully.

After Zou Ruoguang received Wei Jin's phone signal, he took the master room card he had prepared in advance and made his way to the vicinity of the guest rooms, waiting for the moment Wei Jin and the others arrived so he could burst into the room and stage a scene of catching them in the act.

Every time Zou Ruoguang thought of the incomparably seductive Zhao Xiaoyan being bedded by Liu Baoqiang, an unbearable ache rose in his chest. She was only a call girl, true—but she had been his first woman, and he could not help a flicker of jealousy.

He was still brooding when the sound of footsteps came drifting toward him. He looked up and saw Wei Jin approaching at the head of a group of people. Zou Ruoguang was badly startled—he had let his mind wander just now and nearly ruined everything.

He drew a breath, hastily pulled himself together, and then bawled at the top of his lungs: "You fucking adulterous pair—just wait till I beat you both to death!"

With that, Zou Ruoguang snatched up the master key card, swiftly unlocked the door before him, and went charging in with great strides, cursing as he went: "You motherfuckers—I'll damn well kill you both!"

Seeing Zou Ruoguang already waiting there, Wei Jin felt his heart settle at once, and he hurried the others forward. That shout from Zou Ruoguang delighted him all the more—his cousin really did have a gift for acting, and the performance was convincing. But the next moment Wei Jin was frantic: watching Zou Ruoguang swipe the master card to open the door, he wanted to yell, 'Brother, you've got the wrong door!'

Yet he absolutely could not shout—one cry from him and the whole thing would be exposed. So he could only watch helplessly as Zou Ruoguang went into the wrong room, with nothing he could do about it.

Wei Jin was beside himself. He thought furiously, could you not have made sure before going in? What the hell kind of mess was this? A perfectly good plan, so carefully laid, and you've gone and wrecked the whole thing.

Zou Ruoguang, anxious at the sight of Wei Jin coming, had been careless for a moment and forgotten to check the room number. When he burst into the room shouting, he froze dead in his tracks.

For inside the room, apart from a few savage-looking men, there was no trace of Zhao Xiaoyan—nor of anyone named Liu Baoqiang.

"N-no, that's not right!" Zou Ruoguang stared blankly at the people in the room.

"Who the fuck are you? What're you doing in here?" A man with a scar slashing across his face advanced on Zou Ruoguang. "Who was it you said you were going to kill?"

"I—I must have got the wrong room," Zou Ruoguang stammered, frightened out of his wits, and hastened to explain.

"Get the fuck out of here!" Seeing it was some fool who'd wandered into the wrong room, Scarface lifted a leg and kicked Zou Ruoguang clean out through the doorway.

Wei Jin was stewing over what to do next when he heard a howl of agony, and with that howl Zou Ruoguang came shooting out of the room like a human cannonball, slamming hard into the wall—and then the door banged shut.

Since Scarface's door had not been locked from the inside earlier, he had paid no attention to the master card in Zou Ruoguang's hand, assuming the man had simply pushed the door open.

This time, however, Scarface made a point of locking the door behind him, lest some other idiot come barging in.

Zou Ruoguang was sent sprawling, dazed and reeling—but luckily it was only a single kick. Though his whole body felt like a pile of loose bones, at least he could still get to his feet.

To be continued.

924. Everyone Stays

Zou Ruoguang peered blearily at the number on the door of the room he had just blundered into, and sure enough, he had got it wrong by one—the room he was actually meant to enter was the one next door.

"Ahem, ahem." Seeing Zou Ruoguang standing there in a daze, Wei Jin hastily coughed twice. He thought: get a move on, will you? Any later and the whole thing will be exposed.

Zou Ruoguang snapped back to his senses, gritted his teeth against the pain, and clambered to his feet. He checked the number on the neighboring door, and only once he had confirmed it carefully did he bellow again: "Waaah—you fucking adulterous pair, just wait till I kill you both!"

With that, he swiped the card, opened the door, and rushed in, shouting on: "You adulterous pair! So I've caught you here, carrying on your filthy affair!"
