Chapter 147 — The Long-Awaited...
Years of Heartflutter Page 300 of 501
Sui Yuemin knew all too well what kind of man Tian Long was and how much power he wielded. Never mind himself—even the Sui family of Jingshan, even his own younger brother Sui Yuejin, might not dare provoke him.
At that thought, Sui Yuemin's tone lost the harshness it had when he first came in. He merely asked, "Where is he?"
"He's already gone." Zou Ruoguang, seeing Sui Yuemin arrive, struggled up from the ground with difficulty. "But my cousin has already sent for people. Perhaps they can intercept them outside the gate."
Sent for people? Sui Yuemin was taken aback, and then thought to himself, this is bad. He had no idea what relationship Tian Long had with that Yang Ce, but he knew perfectly well what Tian Long did for a living. You send for people—however formidable they are, could they be a match for Tian Long?
To be continued.
927. She's Sick...
927 She's Sick. But although Sui Yuemin was shocked at heart, he also knew that this was beyond his control. In the Sui family, he was the lowest in status. Besides, strictly speaking, Wei Jin no longer counted as one of the Sui family; the Wei family's influence in Songjiang was already very powerful.
For now, he would stop wondering whether Yang Ce and Wei Jin's people had clashed; the matter at hand had to be dealt with first.
Sui Yuemin hastily summoned the waiters, and together they helped Wei Jin and Zou Ruoguang up and into another room to rest. Then he turned to Wei Jin's classmates and said, "I'm sorry, everyone. A mishap like this is the last thing any of us wanted, but Wei Jin has been injured, so I'm afraid the reunion can't go on. In a little while I'll arrange dinner and entertainment for you all. Those who'd like to stay the night, we'll provide lodging; those who'd rather not, we can send a car to take you back into the city."
Since these people were all Wei Jin's classmates, Sui Yuemin had to handle things properly—otherwise, once Wei Jin woke up, he would surely blame his cousin for making him lose face. So these superficial matters still had to be taken care of.
Though everyone felt that without Wei Jin present, there was no fun left in the gathering, they had already paid fifty yuan each, and their host had made decent arrangements, so they all nodded and agreed.
Wei Jin's concussion was a mild one. After Sui Yuemin brought in a few traditional Chinese medicine practitioners to massage and manipulate him, he came to, and medicine was applied to the bruises on Zou Ruoguang's body as well.
Once all that was done, the practitioners left, and only Wei Jin and Zou Ruoguang remained in the room.
"Motherfucker," Wei Jin cursed, enduring the pain in his head. "I'm so goddamned angry. I wonder whether Zhou Xiaoming and the others caught Yang Ce. If they did, beat him hard—beat him to death, that'd be best."
"Yeah, that bastard really pisses me off," Zou Ruoguang agreed. He and Yan had a grudge to begin with, and he'd be happiest if Yang Ce were beaten to death.
"The plan was so perfect today. I thought I'd have the beauty in my arms by tomorrow, but who'd have guessed something would go wrong." Wei Jin grew angry all over again at the thought of it.
"Actually, if you want to blame anyone, blame that Zhao Xiaoyan. If her mission failed, fine, it failed—but she shouldn't have blurted it out in front of so many people." Much as Zou Ruoguang was infatuated with the taste of Zhao Xiaoyan, she really had botched the job, and even he found it a bit much.
"Fuck her mother," Wei Jin snarled. "That stinking whore actually played me for a fool, took my money and didn't do the job. If she weren't diseased, I'd fuck her to death today to vent my hatred."
"Diseased? What disease?" Zou Ruoguang was stunned by Wei Jin's words.
"AIDS," Wei Jin said with a sigh. "I originally wanted her to pass the disease on to Liu Baoqiang, so that no matter what, Liu Ting could never be with him. I never expected plans to change faster than the weather."
"Wh-what?" Zou Ruoguang froze, his face instantly turning deathly pale. "AIDS? Why didn't you mention that in the plan before?"
"Yes, AIDS. What about it?" Wei Jin glanced at Zou Ruoguang, puzzled, assuming he was afraid of being implicated if people found out they'd used AIDS to harm someone. So he said, "It was something I thought up on the spur of the moment later on. But it doesn't matter now—the plan failed anyway, so there's no use talking about it."
"R-really?" Zou Ruoguang's voice was trembling with fright. What the hell—Zhao Xiaoyan has AIDS and you bastard didn't tell me before? I've slept with her more than ten times—I'm bound to be infected for sure, dead for sure.
A surge of hatred flooded Zou Ruoguang's heart, and he laid all the blame on Wei Jin and that Mama-san called Sister Gu.
"Cousin, what's wrong?" Wei Jin noticed that Zou Ruoguang's mood seemed a little off and asked curiously.
"N-nothing," Zou Ruoguang said, shaking his head. He didn't dare say that he was probably already infected with AIDS, but the hatred in his heart only burned fiercer.
If Wei Jin hadn't dragged him into this badger-game swindle, if that Sister Gu hadn't brought in a diseased whore, if Wei Jin hadn't failed to tell him in advance—then none of this would have happened.
At that moment Zou Ruoguang's mind went blank. He even had the urge to kill Wei Jin, though he knew that was impossible. But he would have his revenge—he absolutely would.
He refused to accept it. He was only twenty, and he'd contracted a terminal disease. His beautiful life had all turned to bubbles. What was he going to do from now on? Never mind the suffering the disease would bring—even the exorbitant treatment costs were more than he could afford.
"Cousin, I'm going out for a bit." Zou Ruoguang didn't want to stay in this room any longer; he feared that in a moment of impulse he might do away with Wei Jin.
Though he wanted to do exactly that, he didn't dare. He was afraid that if he failed to kill Wei Jin in one go, he'd end up in prison himself. And there was still that woman called Sister Gu, who hadn't received the punishment she deserved.
Zou Ruoguang needed to be alone to think. He had to devise a plan that would kill two birds with one stone—take out Wei Jin and Sister Gu at the same time, and ideally without exposing his own identity.
"What are you going out for? You're injured too. Wouldn't it be better to rest here?" Wei Jin said with concern.
But in Zou Ruoguang's eyes, his concern was all hypocrisy, and it made him sick to the stomach.
Just as he was about to speak, the door was pushed open from outside, and Sister Gu hurried in. Seeing Wei Jin's face covered in injuries, she was frightened nearly to tears. "Young Master Wei, Young Master Wei, what happened to you? I heard you were hurt—it scared me to death."
"It's nothing, nothing. Don't worry, Sister Gu. Whoever hit me, I'll make him pay back tenfold, a hundredfold," Wei Jin said, reaching out to pull Sister Gu into his arms. "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. It's all right."
"I was so worried about you," Sister Gu said, melting into Wei Jin's embrace and acting coy.
"Mm, mm, little darling, I'm fine, aren't I? Just a few scratches," Wei Jin said. Stirred up by Sister Gu like this, his lust flared up again at once, and he could hardly restrain himself. "Come on, baby, get in bed."
"Ah—Young Master Wei, your injuries!" Sister Gu was startled. How could they do that at a time like this?
"Heh heh, I can just lie still. You be on top," Wei Jin said, a lewd smile sliding across his face.
"But—" Sister Gu glanced at Zou Ruoguang, who was sitting over there.
Wei Jin immediately understood what she meant and said to Zou Ruoguang, "Cousin, didn't you say you wanted to go out for a stroll? When are you going?"
"Oh, I'm going now." Zou Ruoguang hated this adulterous pair with all his heart, but he knew there was nothing he could do right now, so his expression remained perfectly normal.
