Chapter 1112 — Er Goudan Punches Out Master Li, Part One

The Blossom Guardian

But even if you are kindhearted, when it comes to something that is none of your concern, you should keep your mouth shut. Spouting all that nonsense — isn't that just making more trouble? So Yu Yuanyuan, in a fit of pique, handed Er Goudan one of Master Li's business cards, on which was written the address of the underground boxing arena.

Master Li had left that card when he came calling the day before. His visit had been nothing more than a precaution against Yu Yuanyuan trying to run — to see what she was up to and remind her not to forget their agreement.

Er Goudan took the card without another word, stuffed the last chicken leg on the table into his mouth, and turned and walked out of the burger shop.

"Hey, what are you going off to do?" Yu Yuanyuan was startled. From the look of him, Er Goudan really seemed about to go settle accounts with that Master Li, and she panicked at once. What she had said before was nothing but angry words — she had only felt that Er Goudan could stand there talking without his back aching, and so she had talked back a little. Who could have imagined he would actually take it seriously?

Had it been anyone else walking out that door, Yu Yuanyuan might not have thought much of it — plenty of people just put on a show and use the chance to slip away. Once out the door, who knew what they were up to? But Er Goudan was different. From the earlier business of kindly paying someone's medical fees, it was plain that Er Goudan was a warmhearted man. Yu Yuanyuan truly feared he had gone to settle accounts with Master Li.

Yu Yuanyuan felt she was already unlucky enough. If this business dragged Er Goudan into it for no reason at all, her conscience would torment her — that was the last thing she wanted to see. So without thinking, she chased out the door, wanting to call Er Goudan back. But outside the door, where was there any sign of him?

"Ai, why is this man so warmhearted?" Yu Yuanyuan stamped her foot, frantic, yet utterly helpless.

"Yuanyuan, we had better hurry after him and take a look. The young fellow may be a bit simple, but he is warmhearted. We mustn't let him get dragged into this because of us!" Yu Ren might be timid and afraid of trouble, but he was a good man who understood what was right. He did not want Er Goudan to come to any harm over their family's affairs. This matter had nothing to do with the man — why bring trouble down on him?

"En!" Yu Yuanyuan was frantic too. Hearing her father's words, she paid no more mind to the burger shop's business. She hastily locked up the shop, and she and her father flagged down a taxi and rushed off toward the underground boxing arena.

But Yu Yuanyuan had already lost a beat in locking up the shop, and how could a taxi outrun Er Goudan? Cars in the city were bound by speed limits, but a man was not. On the mountain, Er Goudan could run down even wild beasts. So it was fated that Er Goudan would reach the underground boxing arena first.

The address on the card was very detailed. Er Goudan casually asked a passerby which direction the address lay in, then dashed off toward the underground boxing arena.

The underground boxing arena was a converted abandoned factory, but at this moment it was ablaze with lights. At the entrance to the abandoned factory, two burly men stood guard, walkie-talkies in hand — clearly they were on watch.

Er Goudan walked over and was stopped by the two men.

"Who are you? What's your business here?" one of the guards asked, eyeing Er Goudan.

The fights had already begun, and Er Goudan showing up at the arena at this hour naturally roused the two men's suspicions.

"Out of my way, I'm looking for someone." How could Er Goudan put those two burly men in his eyes? For all their size, they were only good for frightening ordinary folk. In Er Goudan's eyes, wild boars and black bears were nothing worth fearing.

"Insolent! I'd say you're here to make trouble, boy. But you'd better open your eyes and see what kind of place this is. Coming here to make trouble — you must be tired of living!" The burly man laughed at Er Goudan's words, looking at him as though he were a fool.

But Er Goudan had no patience for the likes of him. His purpose here was clear: to beat that so-called Master Li to death.

Er Goudan casually shoved the man who had spoken, and with a howl of agony the fellow went flying and crashed to the ground. Without waiting for him to say another word, Er Goudan strode straight into the underground boxing arena.

Inside the arena, the lights blazed and the noise of the crowd roared. On the platform, two men were fighting, and the shouts of the spectators below rose and fell in waves. But none of this mattered to Er Goudan. His purpose in coming here was to find Master Li.

Yet in this vast arena, where was he to find Master Li? Er Goudan had no idea. After a moment's thought, he simply leaped up onto the platform.

At the edge of the platform were the referee and some of the arena's staff, but Er Goudan moved so fast that before they could react to what was happening, he was already up on the platform.

The spectators, who had been cheering on the fighters they had bet on, suddenly saw another man appear on the platform. They froze, then let out cries of astonishment. No one knew where this shabbily dressed young man had come from.

The two fighters, locked in their desperate struggle, were baffled by the sight as well. This was supposed to be their battlefield — why was there another man here?

"Where's Master Li? Come out quick so I can punch you to death!" Er Goudan's purpose here was simple: once Master Li was dead, he naturally would not be able to take Yu Yuanyuan as a concubine. What use was a concubine to a dead man? Let him find a female ghost for a concubine.

The two fighters on the platform were dumbfounded. What sort of person was this? Was he insane?

The two exchanged a glance, temporarily abandoned their fight, and walked toward Er Goudan. If they wanted to continue the match, they would first have to throw this lunatic off the platform.

"Boy, you're here to cause trouble, aren't you? Do you know the consequences of interrupting our fight?" one of the fighters, wearing a red cap, barked coldly at Er Goudan.

"Are you Master Li?" Er Goudan glanced at the red-capped fighter and asked.

"Master Li? What Master Li?" The red-capped fighter was taken aback.

"Since you're not Master Li, stop your yapping here. I've come to punch Master Li to death." Er Goudan waved his hand impatiently, motioning the red-capped fighter to step aside.

"Big talk! Come to punch Master Li to death, have you? Let's see who you can punch to death... ah!" But before the red-capped man could finish, he felt his body go flying, as though he were on a roller coaster — whoosh, up into the air! Then in an instant he landed in the spectator seats below the platform, setting off a chorus of cries. Er Goudan had thrown him.
