Chapter 1277 — Nothing to Do but Accept His Fate - Shen Yushu Thought No One Would Bid Eight Hundred Thousand, and It Had Been a Perfectly Good Plan, Yet Uncle Chu Had Gone and Ruined It, and There Was Nothing She Could Do About It. She Could Hardly Have Feng Xiaoxiao Send a Hint by Text Too, Could She? Besides, Uncle Chu Had Already Bid, So Another Hint Would Be Useless. As It Stood, It Was An Jianwen Who Had Not Yet Raised His Bid!

The Blossom Guardian

"One million!" Just when Shen Yushu thought all was lost, An Jianwen leaped up and bid again!

Shen Yushu was beside herself with joy. "Wow, so there really is a big spender after all—one million! Sister Yaoyao's first kiss, already worth one million! Will anyone go higher? I doubt it! One million going once, one million going twice, one million going three times... sold! Congratulations to An Jianwen on winning Sister Yaoyao's first kiss!"

Shen Yushu could not wait to bring down the hammer, as though she were bent on selling Gu Mengyao's first kiss to An Jianwen and no one else!

Seeing how desperately Shen Yushu wanted him to win Gu Mengyao's first kiss, An Jianwen was overjoyed! Even Gu Mengyao's best friend was helping him like this—his pursuit of the young lady was a sure thing now! It seemed Shen Yushu had come around and meant to push Gu Mengyao his way!

Wahaha! An Jianwen was thrilled beyond words. He could feel it: Shen Yushu was helping him. Gu Pengzhan had not even had time to bid before the hammer came down!

"Thank you all for your support!" An Jianwen rose to his feet, already unable to contain himself. Other bidders, after winning an item, would go up, swipe their cards, transfer the money, and take the item in hand on the spot; and An Jianwen, naturally, wanted Gu Mengyao's kiss right now!

"Now, let us welcome An Jianwen to the stage to receive his lot!" Shen Yushu, standing in for Tang Yun and Gu Mengyao, played the host.

Gu Mengyao, meanwhile, looked utterly at a loss. What on earth was little Shu trying to do? Was she out of her mind? Make her kiss An Jianwen? Why not just kill her?

Anxious as she was, Gu Mengyao could not fly into a rage; she only felt wronged and stifled, frowning, not knowing what to do.

By then An Jianwen had already hurried over, unable to wait a moment longer, and climbed onto the runway.

"An Jianwen, please swipe your card first!" Shen Yushu handed him the POS machine and said with perfect seriousness.

"Yes, yes! I'll swipe right now!" An Jianwen, beaming, pulled out his bank card and swiped a million, then said in a low voice, "Thank you, little sister Shu, for making this happen. Don't worry—if I win Yaoyao, you'll be well rewarded!"

"Thank you for your generosity, An Jianwen!" Shen Yushu paid him no mind at all, and announced to the whole hall, "Now, An Jianwen, please receive your lot!"

"Now? Can I do it now?" An Jianwen was thrilled, staring at Gu Mengyao's cold, gorgeous face, drooling.

"Of course you can!" Shen Yushu said. "Sister Yaoyao's first kiss is yours now!"

"Wahaha, then I won't stand on ceremony!" With that, An Jianwen strode toward Gu Mengyao.

Gu Mengyao glared at Shen Yushu. Was little Shu's head full of mush? How could she do something so reckless? Make her kiss An Jianwen?

"An Jianwen? Where are you going? Over here—Feng Xiaoxiao will give you your lot!" Shen Yushu grabbed An Jianwen and hauled him back.

"Feng Xiaoxiao? Isn't it Gu Mengyao?" An Jianwen was stunned. What would I want Feng Xiaoxiao's first kiss for? Feng Xiaoxiao was pretty enough, but to spend a million on a kiss from someone so unrelated—was he brain-dead?

"Here it is!" At that moment Feng Xiaoxiao took a water-scene sculpture out of a box, held it in her hands, and said to An Jianwen, "An Jianwen, here you are—this is what you bid for, Gu Mengyao's first kiss!"

"Huh?" An Jianwen was dumbstruck. "What kind of first kiss is this?"

"This is the first kiss! Look!" Feng Xiaoxiao raised the crystal sculpture in her hands. "This is a crystal sculpture made from Gu Mengyao's kiss mark. This is Gu Mengyao's first kiss!"

The crystal sculpture in Feng Xiaoxiao's hands was like those hand- and footprints of celebrities, except that this was a kiss mark, set inside crystal—a souvenir.

"This is the first kiss?" An Jianwen stared at the thing in Feng Xiaoxiao's hands, on the verge of tears. A million for a piece of cheap glass? Was this some kind of joke? This was the first kiss? What a rip-off!

"Yes, doesn't it say so right here? Gu Mengyao's first kiss!" Shen Yushu pointed at the water-scene sculpture in Feng Xiaoxiao's hands.

Laughter erupted from the audience. Every student could see it now: An Jianwen had been played! They had pulled a word game on him—Gu Mengyao's first kiss, but no one ever said Gu Mengyao would kiss him. The meaning was entirely different!

"This..." An Jianwen's face was hideous to behold. He had never imagined Shen Yushu would come up with something like this! Now he finally understood: he had been made a fool of by Shen Yushu again! An Jianwen wanted to curse.

His hard-earned money, spent on a piece of junk!

Gu Mengyao now understood at last why Shen Yushu had wanted to auction her kiss—to trap An Jianwen! She herself barely remembered that crystal sculpture of her kiss mark; it seemed they had made it in a craft shop back in middle school, and afterward it had sat at home, never looked at again.

How Shen Yushu had dug it out, she had no idea—and then brought it out and sold it for a cool million!

At the thought, Gu Mengyao could not help but smile. It seemed her worry had been for nothing; little Shu really was wicked, to have led An Jianwen around by the nose like that! A million gone in an instant!

Still, though the crystal sculpture bore her own kiss mark, Gu Mengyao did not really want to give it to An Jianwen—after all, it was her true lip print. What if An Jianwen took it and did something disgusting with it?

But weighed against that, this outcome was acceptable to Gu Mengyao. If she worried about such things, then her photos might be taken by An Jianwen and used for disgusting purposes too—there was no guarding against everything.

An Jianwen had no way out. He had been cheated, but he had bid of his own free will, and he could not lose his temper on stage; if he did, he would only look petty, and Gu Mengyao's impression of him would surely sink even lower.

So An Jianwen had no choice but to accept his fate. He walked over, a very ugly smile on his face, and took the crystal sculpture from Feng Xiaoxiao's hands. But the moment it touched his hand it felt slick and slippery, and with a whoosh it slipped from his grip, fell off the runway, and shattered to pieces on the floor.

How could anything made of glass be sturdy? Dropped on the ground, of course it broke!
